Win The Whispering Cornflowers
Quilt
If
you come by the store you will be able to see this wonderful
quilt that is hanging in our window. At nighttime,
with the window lights behind it, it looks especially
magnificent and reminds me of the stained glass windows
that I've seen in ancient European cathedrals.
The quilt was sewn with love
to honor two friends, Barb Holmes and Kathy Kitick who
lost their battles with ovarian cancer. Both were
knitters, quilters, and wonderful women.
The quilt was made to honor their
memory, to spread awareness of the
symptoms of ovarian
cancer, and to raise money for ovarian cancer research.
You can win this lovely quilt
- stop by the store and purchase tickets, or
simply
purchase a book of tickets online. All
proceeds go to the cause, and $5 gets you 6 entries
into a drawing that will be held on October 1st, 2006.
Don't Forget Louisa Harding is
Here on Sunday
Our
Louisa Harding workshop is now full - but don't
despair if you didn't make it - you have another opportunity
to meet and greet Louisa at a book signing right
after the workshop. Our doors will re-open at
630pm on Sunday, September 10th, and Louisa will
be available until 730pm. There is no charge for
the book signing.
In our opinion, Louisa is one
the world's greatest
knitwear designers. Maybe you already own
patterns or books by her? She's known for elegant
sweaters, accessories and adorable children's designs,
and maybe you've knitted with
her yarns. Her new
collections
of patterns have just arrived - pick one up for
the book signing - pre-purchase
online
and just let us know if you'd like us to hold it for
you.
